Day 4 – 14:57pm

Waking up and wondering how the fuck I spent £130 yesterday?

Might check more pockets.

All I have to show for it is 5 unbroken eggs.

Found out if you open your palm and put an egg in it sideways you can squeeze as hard as you like and it won’t break

I had to buy some and try it.

We all tried it.

it actually fuckin works.

Try it.

News from Brighton...

we played with a band called Arkland - a proper nice bunch, and all their friends too.

did the scariest fairground ride ever

now I wanna go again

Lyndsey won 2p on the penny waterfalls.

I did a bucking bronco that span more than it bucked. found muscles I never knew existed

The Rapture came and went, and noone I know got beamed up,

so the party goes on….

actually goes on tonight at Heroes in Kentish Town

we’re playing with some of our favourite bands we know.

if you want a good time, for free, with free food, and you're not a cunt, then come down x

Tour Day 2 of 10 – 4:56am

Long day

Just got in.

Everyone was asleep in the van when I was dropped off.

I’m writing a song that’s floating round my head.

So I’m awake.

Portsmouth was fun.

Radio session was fun.

Lyndsey was uncomfortable in her trousers so borrowed a pair of Alex’s boxers.

we walked into the radio station with her dressed like an 8-year old from the waist down, and the evil guy in Highlander from the waist up.

Was a good look for radio.

Promoters at the venue were awesome.

Gig was heavy.

Broke my guitar.

Made some friends.

Drank too much.

Beat Alex twice at Pool.

Nothing left to report

Tour Day 1 of 10 – 2:16am

So we played with Victorian English Gentleman’s Club tonight at Barfly.

They are fucking good.

if you get a chance go see them on one of their dates this week.

we were lucky we made the gig tho.

spent 4 and a half hours getting back from a radio session in Brighton.

got to the venue 5 minutes before going on stage

worst moment of the day was after 4 hours driving…

we stopped to pick up guitars and amps at my house,

Lyndsey threw the car keys at me,

they went through my hands,

bounced off my body,

assumed slow motion,

and neatly fell down a drain next to the gutter.

It was stunning.

We’d just locked all the equipment in the boot too.

Locked stock and 2 smoking idiots.

luckily it was only 1 metre deep.

coat hanger fishing skills saved the day.

Any deeper and the first day of our tour would have been shit

Weird random thing of the day was getting told our single is going to be backing track to the week’s goal scoring montage on Soccer AM on Sky Sports Saturday morning.

wasn’t expecting that one.

None of us are very good at football.

Actually that’s a lie.

I’m fucking Ace.

N

Tour Day 1 of 10 – 11.51am

Slept terribly.

Open window, neighbourhood sounds, and one of those nights where you know you got to be up early so you keep waking up every 20 minutes.

I feel like shit.

WE got to go to Brighton to do a radio interview and session before coming back to play London tonight.

Lyndsey’s 2 hours late.

Walked into garden barefoot and trod on a snail.

The Ruckus: Arrows of Love top the Camden Crawl Tips show

Arrows of Love are a far more noisy, rocky band than I would ever normally listen to sat in the comfort of my own living room, but seeing them live I was exhilarated and blown away by their energy. This is a band that is tight as hell live, yet still maintain an energy that goes beyond most bands I have seen. Guitarist Alex spent the majority of the second half of the set playing from the audience, as he threw himself around the floor. Lead singer Nima also jumped into the crowd, strutting about like a true frontman. This Camden Crawl Tips show was a memorable one for sure, and Arrows are ones to watch.

New Chapter

Arrows of Love - New Chapter

some of you have this figured already...
Arrows was revolving last year.
it was great, but just got too much for sanity..
me, Alex, and our friend Mike met in January, played loud, and turned out Mike was tuned to the same wavelength all along...
so we figured we'd do this thing.
Then we met Lyndsey, who is singing with us, and is a proper sista...
We hit the stage at a friend's night to try it out, and it was like a natural perfect fit.
So now we're owning this thing.
it's exciting. it's early...
We're figuring things out fresh, playing and recording, and there's good things coming.
tonight you can get a glimpse.
We play the Bull & Gate in Kentish Town at 9:45pm
We're even being joined by our old friend Wim on bass for the night.
Tonight is proper family.

Just a big up to Tom Robinson on BBC6Music who was playing Burn This Town in the early hours this morning. He's asked to have a little chat so you might hear a ramble or a rant on the next show. In the meantime if you wanna see what his shows are all about you can do it using technology...http://lnk.ms/KdqDt

The Wheelbarrow, Sunday 13th Feb

LIVE – ARROWS OF LOVE, WHALES IN CUBICLES, THIS IS LAURA, CLUB L’ENDEAVOUR, ED & ALE

DJ’s – TURBOGEIST, THRUSH METAL, MAHOODY, DANNY BOY

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Right all you romantic bastards.
Come get all fucked up and wave two fingers in the air to St Clinton cards day.
We got loads of great bands, dj's and stella.
From 5pm

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

10PM --- THIS IS LAURA
This is Laura are a velvet-glove take on baroque folk and brittle blues, a strikingly original third way between the femme grit of PJ Harvey and the cats-cradle perplexities of CocoRosie and A Hawk And A Hacksaw. They can reduce unsuspected men and women to tears by dint of their sea-shanty, tinderbox of soul-fuelled delights.

9PM – ARROWS OF LOVE
It’s a new fuckin chapter and it’s rockin hard.

"An epileptic fit set to music, it’s wild-eyed and feral, raw and unpolished and all the better for it." MUSIC WEEK

“The sonic attack of At The Drive-In, with nods to Jesus Lizard and Quicksand...” **** ROCK FEEDBACK

“a tangled mess of scrawling feedback, sledgehammer drums and guitars heavy as lead weights fighting tooth and nail for supremacy…. like a paranoia inducing half dream/half nightmare injected directly into your ears, it is at once both entirely disturbing and utterly irresistible.” – JOYZINE

http://www.myspace.com/arrowsoflove

8PM - WHALES IN CUBICLES
"What an absolute cracker...Life Without Buildings sharing stage space with Waterboys, Maccabees, Animal Collective and Biffy. Yes, it is that good."
- Gill Mills - Best of Myspace

We Never Win - "It’s hazy, dusty and angular… almost shoe-gaze… eventually unravelling into a sonic freak-out that holds angst amid Arcade Fire. It’s a very, very well made pop song that cleverly appears to defy any such classification." - Track In the Box

'entirely disturbing and utterly irresistible': Joyzine Review

Finishing us off (quite possibly in the literal sense) for this month are Arrows of Love, whose track ‘Real Friends’ is a tangled mess of scrawling feedback, sledgehammer drums and guitars heavy as lead weights fighting tooth and nail for supremacy. “We are your real friends, closer than family” they murmur over the grungy chaos like a paranoia inducing half dream/half nightmare injected directly into your ears, it is at once both entirely disturbing and utterly irresistible.

rant

I just don't like most bands...
don't tell me that's wrong...
most bands are shit...
The good ones make life feel more real,
like things matter,
if just for a little while.
